Welcome to Qiaona Yu (俞巧娜)'s Weebly site.
I am an Associate Professor at Wake Forest University. My research specializes in language proficiency and development, task-based language education, and interdisciplinary language studies (i.e., language with business, wellbeing, literature, or culture). I am interested in exploring the cognitive, sociocultural, and socioemotional dimensions of the Chinese language learning process. I have published a monograph, peer-reviewed articles on journals including Applied Linguistics, Global Business Languages, and Reading in a Foreign Language, as well as peer-reviewed book chapters with presses including Routledge, Springer, Cambridge University Press, and Peking University Press. I have served as a reviewer for journals including Language Learning, International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching (IRAL), Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching (SSLLT), and Chinese as a Second Language (CSL). I have been serving on the Editorial Boards for Foreign Language Annals (2024-27) and Global Business Languages (2025-present), and have served on ACTFL Research & Assessment Committee (2023-2025). In addition to journal manuscripts, I have also reviewed proposals for conferences including the ACTFL Convention, CLTA Annual Conference, and North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL). I have also been serving on the Board of Directors (2023-26) of the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA), USA. |
