Welcome to Qiaona Yu's Weebly site. I am an Associate Professor of Chinese at Wake Forest University. My research specializes in the intersection between Chinese linguistics and second language acquisition and currently focuses on defining, assessing, and developing Chinese syntactic complexity. I am particularly interested in task-based language education, language for specific purposes, and cognitive linguistics. I received a PhD in Chinese linguistics and pedagogy at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM), an MA in Chinese linguistics and Philology (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Specialization) at Peking University (PKU), and a BA in teaching Chinese as a Second language at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). |
